About Company
Viscotek Corporation, headquartered in Houston, Texas, was founded in 1984 by Dr. Max Haney, the inventor of the four capillary differential viscometer detector. Since its inception, Viscotek has pioneered innovative technologies and products for the characterization of natural and synthetic polymers and proteins, and determination of dilute solution viscosities. This pioneering spirit has allowed us to become a market leader in the manufacture of Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), Flow Injection Polymer Analysis (FIPA), and Dilute Solution Viscosity (DSV) detectors and software.
Capabilities
Known for its commitment to quality and innovation, Viscotek continuously works towards better solutions by improving current instrumentation and developing new products and applications. Our goal is to provide the appropriate analytical instruments, techniques and approach for your characterization and measurement requirements.
Viscotek takes pride in being the only manufacturer capable of supplying complete solutions for GPC, FIPA, and DSV applications. "The solutions we provide are comprehensive," says Dr. Haney. "That is what differentiates Viscotek in the marketplace. Our patented detectors, proprietary software and product offering provide our clients with a full range of opportunities, while our technical expertise and support allow us to turn these possibilities into reality."
Markets
Viscotek manufactures GPC detectors for the characterization of natural and synthetic polymers and proteins in the petrochemical, specialty chemical, elastomers, adhesives, coatings, food, agricultural, academic, pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets. Our triple detection systems, which employ a concentration detector, viscometer and light scattering detector operating in concert, set the standard for GPC technology in today's market.
Our relative viscometer was designed for the measurement of dilute polymer solutions, and is the only viscometer that reports a true relative viscosity. Specifically designed for replacing old glass capillary tube technology, the Viscotek relative viscometer also provides intrinsic, inherent, reduced and absolute viscosities.
Sales and Support
Operating out of the corporate offices in Houston, Texas, Viscotek USA provides coverage for all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. Viscotek Europe, headquartered in the UK with offices in the Netherlands, Germany, and France has responsibility for sales and service in the European market. Our offices, coupled with an extensive international distributor network, make Viscotek a global company providing worldwide coverage and support.
Viscotek's staff includes a broad range of polymer chemists, engineers and software specialists, as well as an experienced sales and marketing force. Years of research and development in detection technologies have created an organization with technical expertise that is unmatched by any other manufacturer. This expertise, couple with a demonstrated commitment to service, guarantees that your requirements will be met both before and after the sale.
Instrument Design and Manufacture
Every Viscotek instrument is built at our US design and manufacturing location which sets unprecedented quality standards. Research and Development communicates directly with Production, Technical Service, Sales and Marketing to design and produce instruments that are both functional and easy to service and maintain. Before leaving our facility, every instrument is tested under true chromatographic conditions to insure continued and consistent performance.
A commitment to quality and innovation, coupled with unparalleled technical service and support, will continue to make Viscotek a pioneer in characterization and measurement technologies and a leader in both the Gel Permeation Chromatography and Dilute Solution Viscosity markets.
