LightForm
Main Activity in Nanotechnology
Hyperspectral Imaging Instrumentation
About Company
LightForm was founded in 1996, by Jeremy Lerner, to develop and sell Hyperspectral Imaging instrumentation to life science researchers.
LightForm won three NIH, SBIR grants, that dramatically propelled the development cycle that effectively removed the "small company pitfall" of shipping instruments before the development cycle was completed. PARISS was formally introduced to the market in 1998 at the Pittsburgh Conference.
Advanced hyperspectral imaging systems acquire all wavelengths simultaneously by using an imaging spectrometer coupled to a CCD. All spectra that meet a user-determined threshold are pseudo-colored, and mapped onto a grayscale image of the sample. This imaging technique can be used to characterise nanomaterials and biological samples.
