About Company
The company was founded in 1997 as a spin-off of the Center for Nanoscience (CeNS) in Munich. CeNS aims to stimulate and support interdisciplinary research in all areas of nanoscience, combining physics, chemistry, biochemistry and life sciences. As one result of that research - new tools for future nanotechnology have been developed. While being PhD students and semiconductor technicians the founders of nanotools had to answer the growing demand towards AFM probes for their scientific research. The HDC (high dense carbon) technology enabled the nanotools team to manufacture tips of almost any desired geometry and functionality .This flexibility and technical diversity distinguishes nanotools products from conventional silicon sensors.
The distinctive production line is one asset of the successful nanotools setting. The companyís businessplan convinced also the jury of the McKinsey businessplan contest 97 and nanotools became the winning team.
Due to the close relationship to CeNS, nanotools became partner for developing new "nanotools". At the moment the portfolio includes tweezers, nanotools is working on. Therefore close contact and a dynamic exchange of information with customers and friends in research as well as industry is indispensable. And will be called in in the further development.
