Ball Semiconductor Incorporated was founded to commercialize a new and revolutionary idea for developing, manufacturing, and marketing spherical integrated circuits. Ball Semiconductor Inc. and its joint development partners are developing the technology to build integrated circuits and sensors on a silicon sphere rather than on a flat wafer; one-at-a-time instead of in batches; and in small tubes and pipes rather than in large, expensive clean rooms. BALL believes its technology will reduce the cost of chip manufacturing significantly, helping establish this technology as a worldwide standard and usher in a new era of innovation and competition in the semiconductor and MEMS industry.
