Gennum Corporation, established in 1973, designs, manufactures and markets industry-leading semiconductors and semiconductor-based products for leading segments of the global video, audio and data communications markets. Our operations are organized into three business units. In our Video business, we are the leading supplier of transport products to the broadcast industry as a result of our proven capabilities in the high-speed transmission of high quality video. We have built on this studio heritage to develop image processing products for the high-end display, television and video projection markets. In our Audio & Wireless business, our knowledge of high fidelity acoustics, low power usage and miniaturized packaging is converging with new capabilities in ultra-low power short range wireless technology, resulting in new products for the hearing market and for wireless audio devices. In our Data Communications business, we are a leading supplier of high-speed components for optical transceivers and backplane interconnects used in datacom and telecom systems as a result of our proven capabilities in delivering solutions with the highest signal integrity.

Gennum has a strong commitment to research and development, and has invested over $175 million in R&D over the past five years. This ongoing focus on R&D has resulted in the development of new technologies and the introduction of new products.
