The NSC research line deals with different processes taking place at surfaces, thin films and low-dimensional systems. The combination of applied technological issues with fundamental research, advanced characterization tools and theoretical methods makes of this research line a pillar of the emerging nanoscience and nanotechnology. The scale of the processes and systems under study requires the use and development of specific tools, both for theoretical and experimental approaches. The company's experience in designing and building UHV equipment is thus an important advantage for the proposed scientific goals.
