Hydrexia Pty Ltd

About Company
Australian company Hydrexia Pty Ltd has been spun out of the University of Queensland to commercialise hydrogen storage technology from its Division of Materials Engineering. Using magnesium alloys, sufficient hydrogen can be stored to allow a vehicle carrying 100kg to travel 500 kms, meeting a US Department of Energy hydrogen storage system target. It is hoped that the Hydrexia system will deliver substantial savings in cost and weight in comparison with existing systems. The next step is demonstrating that that this capacity can be achieved with a full-scale prototype at acceptable release temperatures.
