The Institute for Research in Materials - Dalhousie University

The Institute for Research in Materials (IRM) at Dalhousie University is made up of over 90 faculty members and the main research areas range from nanomaterials to macroscopic structures and include experimental and theoretical approaches.

Materials Research is an interdisciplinary subject specializing in many traditional sciences such as chemistry, physics, earth sciences, biology together with engineering, in the investigation of the relationships between and among the structure and properties of materials, and how these relate to materials processing and performance.

Their main research areas are for example- Alloys, MEMS devices, ceramics, optical and much more.
