Orica Australia Pty Ltd

About Company
Orica Australia is a publicly owned Australian chemical company. The company has operations in mining services, agricultural chemicals, consumer products and chemicals. For over 10 years, Orica’s research group has been building monomers into latex particles (80–100 nm in diameter) for use in paint products.
In its patented Dulux brand Wash & Wear 101 product, the company has made use of specially formulated nanoscale polymer latexes. Featuring consistent, controlled particle size and stability, Wash & Wear 101 is currently enjoying commercial success in the Australian market.
Orica is also using nanoparticle zinc oxide from Melbourne company Micronisers; to add transparent UV protection to its Intergrain branded exterior wood finishes.
Orica is also investigating other technologies for development and commercial applications. For four years researchers have worked with the Key Centre for Polymer Colloids at Sydney University to form new nanoscale latexes for paints and adhesives.
