International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA)

MANA conducts research on the novel properties and functions produced by materials and substances on the nanometer scale.
MANA was founded in 2007 and they try to create top world-level research centers adequately attractive to outstanding researchers from around the world. In addition, MANA was founded under this premise to encourage proactive science and technology research with a team of excellent researchers.
They are sponsored by Japan government and MANA has been called one of Japan's best research institutes not only for its research output but also for its efforts to internationalize and establish effective programs for training young researchers.
Their vision is to “create a better future for humanity by opening up a new paradigm of nanotechnology through supporting the development of new materials.” For sustainable development, humanity must materialize innovative technologies for all areas such as the environment, energy, natural resources, foodstuffs, infrastructure, information, communications, disease diagnosis and medical services. MANA expresses the concept of innovated nanotechnology by the term nanoarchitectonics-, making effective use of it in nowadays exploring activities in search for new materials.
