Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology - Faculty of Science - University of Waterloo

At IBMB there are two of the most exciting disciplines in modern science - biology and microbiology - these are multi-disciplinary fields of research and education. They are key fields of aim in the Departments of Biology and Chemistry.

The Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IBMB) was founded to coordinate these fields of activity at Waterloo. They operate a strong undergraduate program in Biochemistry; one of the flagship programs of their faculty.

There are many research areas:

Process dynamics of virus-based systems, Animal cell culture, in vitro toxicology, and biotechnology, Molecular genetic studies of plant-associated bacteria, Computer simulations of protein folding and protein-protein interaction, Recombinant protein production, biofuel production, and bioprocessing technology and much more.
