Keio University - Laboratory for Precision Machining and Nano Processing (PMNP)

The group of students focuse on these main areas of research: Mechanical (nano cutting, abrasive machining, nanoidentation), Optical (laser texturing, laser recovery, laser Raman), Electrical ( EDM tooling, CNF-EDM, ceramic EDM), Thermal (glass molding, 3D micro forming, micro imprinting), Thermo-physical (interface creation, anti-wear tool, hybrid machining). They are interested in high-accuracy, high-efficiency, resource-saving manufacturing technologies. This group is exploring multidisciplinary R&D by interfacing with mechanical science, physics, material science and nanotechnology.
