About Company
Elkington and Fife LLP is a leading firm of patent and trade mark attorneys dealing with all areas of technology. The firm has offices in Central London and Sevenoaks, Kent. Elkington and Fife LLP was founded in 1927 and was one of the first firms in the UK to offer specialist expertise in the field of chemistry.
From its original specialisation in chemistry, Elkington and Fife LLP now has a well established reputation covering all areas of technology and all areas of intellectual property. The attorneys in the firm all have technical university degrees which currently cover the fields of chemistry, physics, biochemistry, pharmacology, electronics and civil engineering.
The firm represents a number of multinational corporations as well as many small and medium-sized companies, and individuals. The firm also works with firms of attorneys principally in the US, Japan and Korea. Elkington and Fife LLP at present has nine partners. The chemical side of the firm has five partners (Jim Marchant, Diana Kyle, Clive Froud, Gordon Wright and Richard Gillard) and three trainee attorneys (Simon Thomas, Amanda McGowan and Helen Brearley). The electrical/mechanical side of the firm has three partners (Graham Boon, Nick Ertl and Simon Greene) and one trainee attorney (James Anderson). One partner (Peter Charlton) divides his time between patent and trade mark work and has a trade mark associate (Mark Hiddleston) and a part-qualified trainee (Katie Cameron).
Services
The services offered by Elkington and Fife LLP include the preparation, filing and prosecution of UK, European and international patent applications, as well as UK, Community and foreign trade mark and registered design applications. We have extensive experience of opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office.
We also give infringement and validity advice for patents, trade marks and registered designs as well as opinions relating to design right, industrial copyright and passing off issues. We have assisted our clients in numerous patent and trade mark disputes over the years, such as Genentech's Patent.
