About Company
Norcada is a Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System (MEMS) product and technology development company, with extensive industrial experience and capabilities in the design and fabrication of MEMS devices. Norcada was founded in 2001 and has a state-of-the-art design and test facility in Edmonton, Canada, which is home to one of the largest micro and nano technology clusters in North America.
Norcada has focused its R&D effort on the development of micro electromechanical relay switches for automated test equipment (ATE), RF test instruments, and microwave components using MEMS as a technology platform. The new micro relay switches being developed are high performance, mechanically latching, and can operate from DC to RF frequencies with broad applications in RF testing and matrix switching for telecom.
In addition to its internal product development effort, Norcada also conducts contract research projects for its customers to jointly develop MEMS-based prototype devices for feasibility studies. Through its access to local microfabrication facilities in Edmonton, Norcada has been able to provide cost-effective MEMS prototype development and small volume fabrication services to its clients.
