MINTEQ® International Inc, Pyrogenics Group
About Company
The Pyrogenics Group is the technological leader in the production of very specialized, high-purity carbon products with unique thermal, electrical, physical and chemical properties that have application advantages where extreme temperatures and stress exist.
We are a part of Minerals Technologies Inc., a resource- and technology-based organization that develops and produces performance-enhancing minerals, mineral-based, and synthetic mineral products for manufacturing industries on a worldwide basis.
The Pyrogenics Group had its origins in the Space Age Materials Corporation (SAMCO), a research and development organization that focused on high-temperature materials and coatings for use in military and aerospace applications. SAMCO was acquired by Pfizer Inc. in 1966 and incorporated into the Minerals, Pigments and Metals Division. That division, renamed Minerals Technologies Inc., became an independent New York Stock Exchange-listed company in 1992.
The production facility of The Pyrogenics Group is in Easton, Pennsylvania. The multi-building complex houses a variety of sophisticated equipment including two large high-temperature furnaces capable of producing Pyrolytic Graphite components from 0.001 to 1 inches thick (0025 to 2.5 cm), lengths over 42" long (107 cm), and widths up to 15" wide (38 cm). Two additional medium-sized furnaces and small pilot furnaces are immediately available supported by a full-service analytical lab for special production or prototype runs. In addition, our furnaces are used in the production of custom Chemical Vapor Infiltration (CVI) of pyrolytic carbon into carbon-carbon composites and special pyrolytic graphite coatings, Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), on graphite substrates.
Our machine shop is fully equipped to finish every order to the customer's exact specifications and quality requirements.
