Carbon
Carbon has six protons, six neutrons and six electrons. The electronics configuration is two electrons in the K shell, and four electrons in the L shell. When a carbon atom forms a compound, it always forms covalent bonds.
In the periodic table f the elements, carbon is listed as crystallizing in the hexagon structore. For nanotechnology is interesting carbon nanotube.
